DFD machines use CO2 to clean mechanical pieces: a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to current polluting processes using chlorinated and petroleum solvents or aqueous detergents.
Once heated at low temperature and pressurized, CO2 reaches its supercritical domain, its properties, almost as dense as a liquid, with transport properties (viscosity, diffusion) close to those of a gas, allow cleaning in a dry manner.
The machine DFD-MC 4.1, developed and eco-designed by DFD - Dense Fluid Degreasing, in close partnership with the best French experts (CEA, CETIM-DTDEC-French organisation for innovation in Mechanical industries) is the first cleaning machine for mechanical parts using Supercritical CO2 or Dense Fluid, already deployed in an industrial plant.
This machine degreases mechanical parts thanks to a bath of supercritical CO2, added with oscillations and ultra-sounds. At the end of the cleaning process, parts are perfectly cleaned, dry and at ambient temperature. Solid particles and oil are separated from CO2 to be recycled for a new usage.
This process optimises the exploitation costs: saving of nearly 50% of the electricity consumption, working process without stop and maintenance and oil recycling.
This machine cleans all material types and is particularly adapted to shapes for which cleaning is especially difficult, like complex parts with blind holes or very narrow tubes, on demanding markets, not fully satisfied with the quality of the current processes.
