Visa Applications
Information for visitors and exhibitors from countries requiring a visa.
Since 2013, when applying for a visa for the purpose of participating in or visiting a trade fair, an invitation letter from the respective trade fair company can be waived. Due to the lack of necessity, we no longer offer letters of invitation. Should a letter of invitation be required in individual cases, please use the "Invitation Form" below.
As a rule, visitors need the admission ticket as proof to apply for their business visa and exhibitors need the stand confirmation and/or the stand rental invoice (possibly with bank transfer receipt).
For detailed information on the conditions for obtaining a (Schengen-)visa, please visit the website of the German embassy/consulate general to which you intend to submit your visa application - as up-to-date as possible.
You can find out from which countries a visa is required for entry to Germany from the German Foreign Office .
The AUMA website also provides up-to-date and important information.
If you have any further questions, please contact your Sales Partner of Deutsche Messe AG in your country. Exhibitors and visitors from countries where we do not have a Sales Partner are welcome to contact our Incoming Service: incoming@messe.de.
Please note: For visitors, the issuance of a visa is conditional on the purchase of a full-event-ticket for the corresponding trade fair.
Please note:
Starting in 2025, citizens from more than 60 visa-exempt countries will have to apply for travel authorization in the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) before traveling to any of the 30 European countries. With a valid ETIAS travel authorization, travelers can enter as many times as they want for short-term stays - normally for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Travelers who do not have a valid travel authorization will not be allowed to board their flight, bus, ferry or ship.
